If you are not into old cars, retromod is a new term for you. Let’s break it down.
Retro: to look back to an original of exceptional design for inspiration.
Mod: to change to make better; to improve in a complementary fashion.
That gives us retro + mod, meaning an original design made better.
That’s the transformational power of Jesus. That’s what salvation does for us. We are us, we meet Jesus, and we become better than us.
We are the same and yet improved in so many ways.
1 Peter 1:23 in the treasured King James Version says:
“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”
Are you seeing this? Born again, a second chance. But it’s more. We’ve become incorruptible, our retromod completed by the Word of God, and we will live forever and ever both restored to God’s design and improved in all the best ways.
It’s time to step up to who we are in Jesus. We may see the same face in the mirror, but our souls are sanctified. We may be married to the same spouse, but we walk at Jesus’ side. Our job, our car, our house, they may be the same, but we have been changed.
We are now children of the King, and we will reign with him forever.
Let’s rock the walls with our shout of victory and praise.
We are an original design – human – made better – like Jesus!
When we step into salvation, we become a new and improved us!
