In our mailboxes, letters are emblazoned with tempting morsels to get us to look inside. JUST FOR YOU! REDEEM THIS NOW! YOU MAY HAVE WON!
Even so, we understand the facts. We likely haven’t won anything. It’s like getting an email that says YOU CAN MAKE $100,000 A DAY FROM HOME.
We want to open it in hopes it might be true. The possibility is too good to pass up.
Think how the events in Matthew 2:10 must have made the people of the day feel:
“When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.”
This was a letter from God, an email of divine origin. JUST FOR YOU! YOU HAVE WON THE BEST PRIZE!
The star shining in the heavens guaranteed something better than $100,000 a day. SALVATION for mankind was on the way!
This was indeed the bargain of the day, something they wanted to redeem posthaste. Rush to the manger. Locate the Christ child. Trade your treasures for the blessing of the King of Kings.
Christmas is our celebration of that wonderful event. That star was the sign of our coming redemption. Jesus invites us to join him today.
Here are three steps to your redemption in Christ:
1. Believe on him.
2. Accept his forgiveness.
3. Live out his example of love.
You just raked in the lottery prize. Woo-woo! You’ve got it made!
Salvation is for all of us. Accept yours today.
