Here’s the question:
Is God in control of your life?
Bam! Did that hit you in the face?
Like, where did that come from?
That doesn’t change the question. Have you turned over control of your life to your Father in Heaven?
Let’s look at 4 Opportunities to Offer Submission from Ephesians 5:22-23:
“Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior.”
Let’s look at each of these separately.
Our 1st Opportunity to Offer Submission:
“Wives, submit to your own husbands.”
Take this portion of this passage the way you want, but if we’re headstrong and determined to have our own way, we’re out of the will of God.
Our 2nd Opportunity to Offer Submission:
“For the husband is the head of the wife.”
It’s time to step up to responsibility. We can’t always have things our way.
Our 3rd Opportunity to Offer Submission:
“Christ is the head of the church.”
We come in second place. God is always at the top of the power chain.
Our 4th Opportunity to Offer Submission:
“Christ … is himself its Savior.”
We take three steps to salvation. First, believe. Then, repent. Finally, receive.
Christ is the head of the church. Everyone else comes under him.
