Choice.
Is it conscious, meaning, can we change the probability of something happening, or is our choice determined by the very probability of us choosing this thing or that?
In other words, if we have a plate of candies, red, blue, and yellow, are we bound to choose certain colors in a predictable pattern?
Probability says yes. A certain percentage of people will choose each color, regardless of their individual choices.
How does that apply to salvation? Will a certain number of people ALWAYS travel the broad road to destruction, no matter how urgently we spread the gospel of Christ?
Do our efforts make a difference? Or does probability carry a heavier weight than choice?
Psalm 145:20 reveals why this question is so important.
“The Lord preserves all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.”
ALL. The Lord preserves ALL who love him.
Anyone who makes the choice for salvation … that’s right, you … God will preserve, keep safe, and welcome into his arms when your time on Earth is done.
Everyone else, well, read the verse again. It’s pretty clear.
We’re all on the seesaw of choice. Up or down, Christ or the world.
Choose now. It’s your time. You can set probability aside when you invite Jesus to be part of your life.
Your Heavenly reservation is assured when you pick Jesus as your Savior and Lord.
