We don’t always feel attractive.
We get a cold, and our nose is red and sore. That’s not a look anyone wants.
Or we’ve had a rough day at work, then our daughter gets sick all over us just before our dinner date.
We want to start over, to redo the day. We need a makeover, the sort a runway model gets just before stepping out to wow the world.
Isaiah 1:18 gives us our runway makeover.
“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.”
Are you seeing this? It’s monumental, life-changing, and like nothing we’ve had come our way before.
It’s better than the lottery. Every bad thing we’ve done is gone, and we can walk the catwalk in a life that’s brand new.
Our sins, the wrongs we’ve committed and tried to wish away, the ones we’re certain brand us like a scarlet letter, well, God says they are gone, as white as snow, revealing the purity of his holy nature.
Crimson is the most brilliant of colors. There’s a reason it’s the harbinger of danger, because we can’t miss it when it’s there. God turns our lives into freshly shorn wool, soft to the touch and welcoming to others, something we can share with pride.
We are made-over totally and completely. Every bad thing in our life is cast aside and forgotten, never to bother us again.
God makes us over again. Our fresh start comes in him.
