We’re all-too-familiar with the bad experiences in life.
They dog our steps like a junkyard dog demanding a handout.
We vie for that new job, only to be beat out by the new employee.
We put some money down on a new car, only to have a fender-bender before the first payment.
Even our diet is assaulted by cherry cupcakes left in the breakroom.
We feel we can’t be successful on our own.
Do you want to know the truth? We can’t. We need a superhero to come to our rescue.
John 10:10 gives us our superhero rescue.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
The world is a thief. Read that again, a thief! The world wants to take what God has imbued us with and consume it. We are left with nothing.
God says no more! That’s not who he created us to be.
Let’s reread the second part of that verse.
“I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
Abundantly! That’s the life God wants us to have, not a life dogged by the trouble of the world.
We can have that life by placing our trust in Christ. He holds his hand out to us. He’s waiting on us, today.
Our rescue comes through the delivering hand of Jesus.
