The Love Passage

English Audio Version

We know water conducts electricity . . .

Now, hang on there a moment. That’s not really true. Not in the literal sense.

Wha!?! Are you sure?

Absolutely. It’s the other things in the water that conduct electricity. Pure water doesn’t have enough ions dissolved in it to allow electricity to pass through. It’s the solution of the water and the positive and negative ions that allow electricity to pass through water so easily.

What does it take for love to pass through us and into the world? What gives us our ions so that we can reveal love to those we don’t know or haven’t met?

How can we love the unloved in the way that Jesus loved them?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 gives us the Love Passage.

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.”

Our love revealed doesn’t come from what we try to do, but rather from our relationship with our Lord. Jesus is our ion solution. When he mixes with us, love begins to flow, and the world sees him in us.

We become electrified in Christ.

Our love will begin to flow when we accept Jesus in our heart. Let’s do it today.
