The Better Advice

English Audio Version

Stan Lee of Marvel Comics fame, co-creator of such iconic culture icons as Spider-Man, Iron Man, and the Avengers, pocketed $10 million when his company sold to Disney in 2010 for $4 billion.

In 2018, one of his characters, Black Panther, topped the global box office charts, bringing in over $1 billion for the one film.

Lee should have been rolling in the green, flush with more money than he knew what to do with. Yet, bad advice soon began to get in the way. Lee’s accumulated wealth began to evaporate in nefarious ways, according to some sources. At one point in early 2018, an insider close to the family said that “his money will be gone in a few weeks.”

Mr. Lee might have benefited from better advice on how to spend his money.

Christians have received the greatest gift in the history of humanity: salvation and the promise of eternal life.

How have we invested our vast fortune of spiritual opportunity?

Proverbs 15:22 tells us:

“Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.”

Who should be our spiritual counselors? Where should we look for advice in our relationship with our Lord?

Our list should include our pastor, Sunday school teachers, prayer partners, and of course, the Word of God. With trusted advisors at our side, our pathway to a better life will soon become clear.

God’s salvation legacy is a crown of life. Let’s invest it wisely.
