Life is about choices.
What appeals to us? Do we want the green tea or the black tea? Then we are distracted by the herbal variety … or white … or yellow … or even fermented teas.
Then there are the flavored versions. Soon we are pulling our hair … who can decide?
Living by God’s standards is clearer cut. It’s this way or that. This choice or that one.
Do we lie or tell the truth? Keep the extra change or return it to the cashier? Yell at our children or count to three?
It’s time for us to rise up and live to a higher standard. The time for walking in the muck is over. We can’t put on that dirty smock one more time.
We must choose the power of the cross and become champions for God.
2 Samuel 22:33 assures us God will be our support in our fight for the right.
“This God is my strong refuge and has made my way blameless.”
2 Chronicles 20:6 guarantees we will be undefeated in our spiritual battles.
“O Lord, God of our fathers, are you not God in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. In your hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand you.”
Matthew 22:29 encourages us not to underestimate God’s power.
“But Jesus answered them, ‘You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God.’ ”
Hebrews 1:3 promises God’s sustaining power will be ours through our relationship with Jesus.
“He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.”
2 Peter 1:3 reveals our ultimate armor from the Lord.
“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence.”
Now’s our time. Rise up for Jesus. He is ready to lift us high before the world.
There’s no time like now to be the best God wants us to be.
