Cider is a word that has different meanings in different parts of the world. In Europe and parts of South America, it is an intoxicating drink derived from fermented fruit. In North America it is normally considered a pleasant, non-alcoholic beverage.
No matter the part of the world we hail from, CIDER comes from the fruit of God’s blessings upon the land. In truth, there is none sweeter than our CIDER God.
Let’s look at our CIDER God:
C – He brings forth CLUSTERS of blessings.
In Genesis 40:10, Joseph is interpreting the butler’s dream. Little does Joseph know that his prediction of CLUSTERS of blessings for the butler is no more than a stepping stone for the blessings that God will soon shower upon Joseph.
I – He is the IMAGE of the invisible God.
Colossians 1:15 tells us that God is the firstborn of every creature; the first fruit of the vine; and the creator of every good thing. When we see new life spring forth around us, we can know we see the IMAGE of the invisible God in our midst.
D – He is the DEW that brings forth the good fruit.
Zechariah 8:12 describes God as the DEW from the heavens that makes the seed prosperous and the vine to give her fruit. When God comes into our life, his presence brings blessings of increase.
E – He commands the EARTH to do his bidding.
Psalm 50:1 speaks to the mighty power of God, for the EARTH bends to his bidding, from the rising of the sun, to the going down of the same. When God speaks, the bounty of the EARTH rises forth, and he makes it ours.
R – He is the REWARDER of those that diligently seek him.
Hebrews 11:6 tells us the one thing we must have to please the Lord: Faith. If we come to him, we must believe he is the God of all creation, and in that moment, he will open his heavens unto us.
All good things on the earth are God’s, and when we believe in him, he will shower his goodness upon us.
