So you’re not the soloist in the choir.
Does that make you less of a Christian example?
You were never successful teaching a Sunday school class.
How much does God favor you if you’ve failed in this?
A lot!
God says, “You are my child, and in you I find pleasure evermore.”
Maybe you’ve never felt healing flow from your hand unto someone else. Brush it off. God still loves you.
You’ve never won your hundreds and thousands to the Lord. That’s not your job.
Here’s the thing. What do you do well for God?
Have you ever given an elderly saint a ride to church? God says you’re a star in his program.
Do you contribute to the church’s operating fund? God sees every dollar you give.
Are you good at phoning people who’ve missed the church service?
Do you fill in as an usher?
Do you greet people at the door?
Are you a hand-shaker, a song-singer, a person who calls out amen when the pastor strikes a chord? If so, God is in love with you.
Certainly, some people need to stand behind the pulpit, usher in the choir, and serve on the board. God knows that even more people need to pray for the Sunday morning service, sweep the floors, and weed the flowerbeds by the front walk.
1 Corinthians 12:4-6 says:
“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.”
Stand up and cheer. God is working mighty things through you. You are his special blessing, and there’s no one else who can do what you do.
Your strength is Christ, and he comes out in everything you do for him.
