Our PARKA God

We wear jackets in the fall and coats when the wind starts to blow. However, what about during the worst of the winter storms?

During a blizzard, we don our PARKA. It is longer, heavier, and gives us more protection from the blowing wind.

That is our God, for during the worst times of our lives is when he wraps his arms around us, keeping us safe in the storm.

Let’s look at our PARKA God:

P – He is the example of our PRIESTHOOD, holy before all creation.

1 Peter 2:5 tells us he builds us into his holy PRIESTHOOD, that we may be acceptable unto him.

A – He ASCENDS to his throne in the heavens, for he is Lord.

John 6:62 reveals Jesus’ words to his disciples, for he tells them the Son of Man will ASCEND into the heavens, his home even before he came to live on earth.

R – He is the ROOT that sustains us when all hope is gone.

Revelation 22:16 wipes clean the lies of the world. Jesus is the ROOT and offspring of David, the bright and morning star.

K – He KEEPS watch over us in the dark of the night.

Luke 4:10 reassures us his angels are at our side, for they KEEP charge over us, protecting us from all harm.

A – He ASSEMBLES the peoples of this world for his benefit.

Zephaniah 3:8 proclaims the mighty power of the Lord, for he determines to ASSEMBLE all the kingdoms of the earth to do with them as he will.

When we think we trudge through life alone, God has all power at his command, and he can sweep in at a moment’s notice. He provides warmth when he wraps us in his everlasting arms.
