Happy Christmas Joy

English Audio Version

Anticipation is the name of the game.

Christmas is nothing without the adrenaline rush of expectation that comes with the season.

Shake that gift box. Does it rattle? How heavy is it? What if I can see inside the wrapping paper just a little bit?

Then Christmas Eve arrives. Reporters across the world follow Santa’s journey across the globe. Has he reached Berlin? Johannesburg? London? New York? Sao Paulo?

When will he reach my house? I HOPE HE DOESN’T GET LOST!

Then … Christmas morning, and we reach for our first gift. What will it be? The doll I hoped for … the video game console … cookware … diamond ring … new phone … the possibilities are endless.

That’s what Christmas is all about: endless possibilities.

Jesus came to earth to be born into human form to open to us every possibility through salvation in his name.

John 1:4-5 says:

“In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

Mankind had lived in the darkness of sin and turmoil. Jesus was the light that revealed man’s possibilities.

When will the light of Jesus reach our house? It already has, with an offer of forgiveness and salvation, so that we might live in the light of his love.

Christmas wasn’t just for then, it’s for now. Today. Tomorrow. For every part of who we are. Let’s look for him today.

When we see Christ as he is, we allow him to change who we are. Every possibility he offers becomes ours.
