Wanted, Dead or Alive

English Audio Version

Today’s title is wrong.

That’s right, misstated, misleading, and misunderstood.

See, God wants us dead AND alive.

What?!? How can that be? We can’t be dead and alive.

Can we?

Let’s read in Romans 6:11:

“So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.”

Woo-hoo! That’s us, redeemed in God and dead to the world!

We have died in our worldly man and come alive in the power and authority of Christ.

Drunkenness and orgies, DEAD and in the grave!

New life in Christ, gifted by the blood of the cross!

Anger and a mean spirit, STOMPED UNDERFOOT and crushed forever!

A kind spirit and generous heart, our right by association with the King!

Gossip and lies, banished to the darkness where they belong!

Forgiveness and faithfulness, ours in the Name of Jehovah Jireh!

See, we are dead when we ask Jesus to rule in our lives. Our old self goes down into the cleansing waters, and when we come up, we are filled with the new life of the forgiving Lord.

We are new, and there is nothing of the old self to be found.

We walk in the new life of Christ and his love for us, and we don’t look back. Nuh-uh, nuh-uh. We look ahead to a better life with Jesus.

Jesus wants us at his side, the old man dead and the new one fully alive.

Excerpt of the Day

Sometimes it’s good to be angry, when the target of our ire is the travesty of sin.
