5 Benefits We Mustn’t Forget

English Audio Version

When shopping for a new car, we are wise to consider if it does what we want.

Do we need to haul soccer gear? Or travel long distances? Or maybe we need seating for six . . . or even eight.

What benefits does our new car offer us? Heated seats if we live in the north? Ventilated seats for the south?

Does it have tinted windows for the summer sun? An entertainment system for the kids?

Let’s see what benefits we get when we choose to walk with God.

Psalm 103:2-5 gives us 5 Benefits We Mustn’t Forget.

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.”

Benefit No. 1:

God forgives our wrongdoing. He wipes the slate clean. We are new in him.

Benefit No. 2:

He heals our physical infirmities. He is the balm that cures our illnesses. He wipes away all disease.

Benefit No. 3:

He lifts us up into high places. He turns our failures around and returns us to a place of redemption.

Benefit No. 4:

He treats us with love and compassion. He understands our hurts and misgivings, and he draws us into his embrace.

Benefit No. 5:

He gives us the good things in life. Call it prosperity, if you want, or something else, but he will satisfy our wants and needs.

We choose a car because it’s practical and does what we need. We can choose God for the same reason. When we walk with him, our lives are better than they were before.

Salvation is a practical choice, one we need to make today.
