No one knows the trouble I’ve seen.
That’s from an old spiritual song, one with which we can all identify. Our troubles always seem bigger, longer, and more unfair than what other people experience.
Not so.
Someone’s been there, someone’s done that, and nothing’s happening to you that someone else hasn’t already gone through and survived.
Ecclesiastes 1:9 reveals truth for the hurting:
“What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun.”
We want to be hugged, patted on the back, and told that no one’s ever suffered like us. That gives us a warm fuzzy feeling, but it’s not the case.
Your better bet is to step out on the Word of God, decide you’re living on the promises of Jesus, and strive to put aside whatever’s getting in your way.
Life is better with Jesus in it. Let’s let him in today.
