If we attend an auction, we must get the attention of the auctioneer, if we want to purchase something. We might hold up our card, nod our head, or even raise a finger, but somehow, we must let our wishes be known, or we’ll walk away empty-handed.
Sometimes we must make our voice heard.
Romans 5:8 reveals the prize that’s up for grabs. The auction is about to start. The thing is, everyone can bid, and there’s enough to go around. All we need to do is get the attention of the auctioneer.
“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 10:9 describes the bidding process. 1. Take mouth 2. Open 3. Speak. 4. Believe. Yes, it’s really that simple.
“Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Romans 10:13 says our salvation isn’t in wishful thinking or imaginative fancy. It’s in standing up, lifting our hands, and calling unto Christ. We must get involved.
“For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ ”
John 3:16 tells us what we get when we step up to claim our purchase.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
The auction has already begun. If we want to join in and claim the prize of salvation, we need to speak up, please.
