Bursting Forth in Love

English Audio Version

Cream-filled cakes are a diner’s delight.

We bite into our confection, the inside bursts across our tongue, and we feel we are in heaven.

For the meat eaters among us, a good steak is the same. The flavorful juices contain the essence of what we’ve come to anticipate about our meal. Just one taste, and we’re hooked forever.

Car enthusiasts get the same satisfaction from opening the door of a quality automobile. The aroma of leather and wax surrounds us, and we are overcome with heady delight.

People we meet need to get the same sensation from those who claim to be Christians. Philippians 1:9 tells us:

“And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment.”

When we open our mouths, we should be a sweet confection to our listeners, with no sour thing in our mannerisms or speech.

People should anticipate spending time with us. Our interactions must be so flavorful that they become hooked on the Christ they see through us.

Everything in our life must exude an aroma of love and compassion, so that the needy and the hurting will find their heady delight in us.

We must live a mirror image of the life of Christ. He revealed his love for humanity in everything he did, and he held nothing back.

We should burst forth with love, with our hearts open to the world.
