Are you respected for your honesty?
Do people count on you to return to the store when you’ve been given too much change?
Are you always chosen to be treasurer … because the cash is safe in your hands?
If so, you might have an honest streak running through everything you do, and God says he loves you all the more for it.
Leviticus 19:35 expresses God’s desire for honesty to pervade every part of your life.
“You shall do no wrong in judgment, in measures of length or weight or quantity.”
If you break a cookie in two, do you offer the larger half?
Do you pull out the hidden candy when your daughter asks what you’re eating?
Do you buy extra fries on the way home from work to share with your spouse?
You are living up to God’s standard. You portray honesty in every measure of your life.
You are living out the will of God as an example before everyone you meet.
The rest of us are trying to get there. Be patient. With God’s help, we will make it one day.
God is our encourager, and he praises us when we take steps to become more like him.
