Time for Your Success

English Audio Version

It’s time. We’re taking time. What time is it?

The title of this post says, “Time for Your Success.”

What does the word time in our title mean? It depends on how we read it.

Let’s come back to our discussion on time after we look at Deuteronomy 8:18.

“You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”

That verse makes us want to raise our hands and shout. We have the power to get wealth. Nothing’s holding us back now. We are headed for the glory zone, the bastion of plenty, the land of untold riches.

Except … except … that’s not what the verse says.

Certainly, we can quote the words, “It is he who gives you power to get wealth,” but we can’t overlook the exactness of what God is saying.

He gives us the power, not the wealth.

What!?! That’s bursting my balloon. Isn’t that what the Bible promises? Success and prosperity?

Stop it right there, God says. We must stop treating him like a cash machine. He promises to empower us, not dole out untold wealth while we laze around on the sofa or beside the pool.

Now, back to the word “time.” The title tells us, “Time for Your Success.”

How much time have you invested in pursuing your success?

Have you spent the time to earn your college degree? Practiced your skill so many times you can do it in your sleep? Invested the time to improve on what you already know? Found mentors who are already successful in your desired field and spent quality time with them?

How much time have you been willing to give up to grasp the goal you profess to desire?

Or is it only worth it if it comes for free? It’s easier to complain than get out there and do something to achieve your goals.

God empowers you for success. Now get out there and earn it.
