Safety.
Hunkering down. Finding a bolt hole. Retreating. Boarding up the windows. Withdrawing into our redoubt.
Protecting what we have from what might be. Adding a fence to keep out the bogie man …
Here’s the thing: STOP IT.
Fences are nice, but without gates to travel through, we become stuck in what we are, and we can’t move into what God wants us to be.
Matthew 24:32 says:
“Now learn a parable of the fig tree; when his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:”
God will place opportunities into your path. Your responsibility is to recognize them and ACT ON THEM.
Yes, recognize that you CAN get that degree that will vault you into a new job.
That investment opportunity … investigate, validate, but don’t run from it JUST BECAUSE.
That potential spouse … a chance for an exotic vacation … a new car … when God places the opportunity before you, spend time in prayer, study the scriptures, and speak to Godly people for advice. Then, MOVE INTO WHAT GOD HAS FOR YOU.
When the branch is tender and we can see leaves sprouting, that’s God. His hand of goodness places the opportunities we need in our path, and it’s up to us to take advantage of them.
Now is your time. God’s opportunity is your open door. Take a chance on HIM.
