Three Strong Encouragements from Psalms

Let’s jump right into our scripture passage in Psalm 34:6-8:

“This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”

There’s a lot of goodness in this passage, so much so that some of it can get lost in the overview. Let’s break it into three encouraging parts.

Part One: This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.

When we feel beyond hope, our finances have failed, and our family no longer believes in us, God is there. When we cry out to him, HE HEARS US and saves us from whatever trouble has come our way.

Part Two: The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.

Fear in this passage means to respect and honor. When we give God his due, he sends his angels for our protectors, and we are saved from the challenges the devil sets in our path.

Part Three: Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.

Give God a chance. That’s what we’re reading here. When we do, we’ll see how much he loves us. When God is our resting place, his blessing will surround us in all things.

Are you encouraged yet? YOU SHOULD BE.

God is our anchor, Jesus is our champion, and a life lived for HIM is a life that is well-lived in every way.

Choose Jesus today. He has already chosen you and wants to welcome you as part of the family of God.
