Fantasy, sci-fi, or reality?
How can we tell the difference?
An Internet meme played with this idea, and it went something like this:
—Fantasy is pulling a sword out of a stone when no one else can.
—Sci-fi is creating a sword that is formed from pure light.
—Reality is understanding the directions for forging steel.
Here’s the thing: All modern knowledge is built on the past. Take away the underpinnings of what we know, and our 21st century achievements will begin to totter and eventually crumble.
So, what about Heaven? What knowledge do we have about that amazing place? Let’s look to the Bible and see.
Here are 3 Proofs from the Bible that Heaven Is Real.
Revelation 21:4 (NIV) gives us Proof No. 1:
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Not sci-fi, not fantasy! This is the real deal, the explanation given to us two thousand years ago!
Revelation 21:21 (NIV) gives us Proof No. 2:
“The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.”
How much clearer can the Bible be? We can read exactly how God has planned it out!
John 10:28 (NIV) gives us Proof No. 3:
“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.”
Here’s the benefit for the believer. Heaven will be our home for all time!
Here’s another way to see the truth in these three proofs. It’s not a fantasy, because anyone can join us. We are drawn by its pure light, and the directions for getting there were forged in the life and sacrifice of Jesus.
