Some people say life takes us where it wants us to go.
We’re at the mercy of fate. We have no choice in the big picture. The swell of life’s ocean carries us where it will.
God says differently. He says we can walk in his goodness, take a stroll through his garden, and feel solid ground beneath our feet.
God wants us to take off our shoes and let the warmth of his presence soak into our soles.
Hebrews 10:23 says he is faithful.
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.”
2 Timothy 2:13 assures us he will be there for us in our darkest times.
“If we are faithless, he remains faithful—”
2 Peter 3:9 is our promise he will never turn his face from us.
“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”
1 Kings 8:56 offers us rest in him.
“Blessed be the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised. Not one word has failed of all his good promise, which he spoke by Moses his servant.”
Isaiah 25:1 tells us to give him praise for his blessings.
“O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you; I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure.”
Psalm 9:10 says all we need to do is seek him.
“And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.”
It’s time to step out with God. Take his hand. Enjoy the bountiful benefits of his companionship.
Walking with God is a delight forevermore.
