We know the verse telling how much God loved us. We can probably quote most if not all of John 3:16 by heart.
That’s heady stuff. To give your child, the heir to all you’ve worked for and accumulated, to offer a better life to other people … who would do that?
The answer, of course, takes us back to John 3:16. God loves us just that much.
Here are four more verses that give us a measure of how much we are loved and adored by the almighty Father above.
Psalm 146:8 says he loves the righteousness he sees in the upright believer.
“The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous.”
Proverbs 15:9 tells us his heart is moved when we do our best to uphold the standards of the Bible.
“The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but he loves him who pursues righteousness.”
Isaiah 62:5 describes his love with the intensity of a newly married couple on their wedding day.
“For as a young man marries a young woman, so shall your sons marry you, and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.”
1 John 4:10 reminds us he loves us enough to give up his most treasured possession to ensure our future betterment.
“In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
What’s holding us back? We have a God who loves us at any cost. We should run to him.
God’s arms are open wide waiting for our embrace.
