Most churches don’t have a weight machine in the auditorium.
Sunday school isn’t held in a lap pool, and track shoes are banished to the gym. No running allowed on Wednesday night.
So, where do we get our spiritual exercise? How can we gain spiritual strength in our walk with the Lord?
Here are 4 verses through which the power of God flows. You’ll become a mighty warrior for the Lord when you let these passages burn into your soul.
Memorize them. Tape them to your mirror. Record them to play over and over in your car.
You will find the strength to do mighty things in Jesus. This is your time. Take advantage of it today.
Strength Source No. 1:
Colossians 1:11 – “Being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy.”
Get that? Our strength is measured by God’s glorious might. Woo-woo! God is our strength.
Strength Source No. 2:
Romans 12:12 – “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”
Three things trigger the strength of God: rejoicing, patience, and much prayer! We trigger God’s power source by our actions.
Strength Source No. 3:
1 Corinthians 10:13 – “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”
God is our backup plan. His source of strength flows directly into us during our lowest times. We are powerful in him.
Strength Source No. 4:
Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
How many things? Did you catch what this verse says? Reread these words: I can do all things. It says all things, not some things, not many things. I can do all things, and so can you.
We’re now directly on our spiritual treadmill. We have our resistance bands strapped on, and we’re building our spiritual muscles one prayer at a time, one testimony at a time, and one raised hand at a time.
Jesus is our power source, and he loves for us to rejoice in him.
