Power Station Punch

English Audio Version

What happens if you put your finger in a power socket?

Pow! You’ll get a punch of electricity that will jolt your eyeballs.

You’ll jump and dance, and that electricity won’t let up until your finger is pulled free.

Yet, who’s afraid of the electrical power that surrounds us in our homes, offices, and shopping malls? It runs down the highways, beneath our sidewalks, and inside every electronic or mechanical thing we touch.

Even our cars, they won’t run without electricity. Certainly, gas powers the engine, but electricity is the spark of life to our traveling machines.

We can thank the Niagara Falls Power Company. They were the first power plant to transmit power to a city (Buffalo, NY, in 1896), and the use of electricity exploded from there.

That’s how salvation works. We connect to the Jehovah Power Company, and God’s heavenly power plant begins to transmit the spark of life directly into our lives.

Pow! We get a punch of electricity that will jolt our eyeballs! God flows into us, surrounds us in our homes, offices, and wherever we shop. He follows us down the highways, the sidewalks we traverse, and affects everything we touch.

Psalm 118:14 gives us our power station punch.

“The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.”

There are three truths in this verse that should make us jump and dance with the power of God.

1. He is our strength! Do we have that in our hearts? God is our strength. WE CAN DO ANYTHING IN HIM!

2. He is our song! Let’s grab that truth with both hands. WE ARE FILLED WITH HIS JOY AND PRAISE EVERY DAY!

3. He is our salvation! Did you read that, really read that? Look at it again. WE ARE SAVED THROUGH THE POWERFUL GRACE OF GOD!

Let’s get our fingers into God’s power socket. We’ll never be the same again!
