Focused Thinking

English Audio Version

The world is filled with opportunity.

Everything is possible, from building glittering skyscrapers to amassing digital money that’s there for the taking.

We can even change who we are by tweaking our online presence to become rich, young, and handsome.

Yet how much truth is in all of it?

Will we really profit from that skyscraper? The Empire State Building, now a national landmark, was a financial flop for nearly twenty years.

Will cryptocurrency make us wealthy? SpaceBIT was an exciting offering in 2014 but failed miserably by the middle of 2015.

We won’t even touch the reality of online dating and discovering who we’re really meeting.

Proverbs 14:15 says to be aware of what’s happening around us.

“The simple believes everything, but the prudent gives thought to his steps.”

Has the church become a believer in the world’s new morality? Have our Christian leaders fallen into the myth that wealth equals a relationship with God? Do we still count the Bible as truth, or only as a historical document that reveals something that might have happened long ago?

The simple believes everything . . . while the prudent gives thought to his steps.

Get in church. Read the Bible. Find a trusted mentor. Call on God. Walk in faith and depend on him.

Our spiritual truth flows from God. There is no other source.

Excerpt of the Day

A promise to the devil can be laughed off when we have Jesus standing at our side. A promise from the devil is worthless, and should be laughed off even faster.
