Waterproofed in God

English Audio Version

Water is intrinsic to life on planet Earth, and it can damage nearly everything it touches. It seeps in, finding the smallest opening, and becomes an intrusive invader that causes rot, mold, and mildew.

We must waterproof ourselves against the creeping effects of the rising tide, or we can’t survive. What we think gives us life will overtake us with sickness and death.

James 4:7 tells us the devil comes at us the same way, with cunning, finding his way into the smallest opening. Our waterproofing comes from our connection with God.

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

How do we submit to God? Here are five ways:

1. Accept salvation as a life-changing action.

2. Be obedient to the dictates of God.

3. Study the Word to learn about our Lord.

4. Treat fellow Christians with Christ’s love.

5. Share the love of God with others.

These are our waterproofing layers. They will protect us from the devil’s intrusive efforts. When we are fully coated, we will be safe from the evil one and his attempts to separate us from God.

Our faith in Christ is our best protection from the ravages of the world.

Excerpt of the Day

A promise to the devil can be laughed off when we have Jesus standing at our side. A promise from the devil is worthless, and should be laughed off even faster.
