We all want to be Daddy’s favorite, the sibling who gets the special recognition, the lucky one of the bunch.
We want the pat on the head, the time spent at the lake, and the shoulder to cry on when life doesn’t go our way.
Who wouldn’t want that?
Our spiritual Father treats us in much the same way. Ephesians 1:11 reveals the Father’s heart toward his children.
“In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will.”
An inheritance is something of worth passed on from a parent to a child. When we accept Christ as our role model and example, we become a child of the King, and we earn the right to inherit all that the Father bequeathed unto Christ.
It’s predestined, if we choose to accept it.
How do we know what our inheritance is? The Bible is our official record of what God will do, perform, and achieve in and through us when we let him have control of our lives. Once we begin to read, we’ll discover his purpose, and we’ll find his will for us.
Our Father’s love is waiting to be revealed through the revelation of his holy Word.
