Seven Methods for Success

English Audio Version

We can’t argue with King David’s success. He started out a shepherd boy and became the ruler of a great nation.

We could all do with a bit of his golden touch.

Actually, we can have exactly that. We can study what David did and find success through the lessons he recorded. We have his methods of success written out in the most widely published book ever assembled, the Bible.

Let’s look at seven success steps David revealed to us in the Word of God.

Success Step No. 1:

We must find our purpose and our delight in our God.

Psalm 37:4 tells us:

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

Success Step No. 2:

We should take care choosing the people with whom we spend time.

Psalm 1:1-6 cautions us:

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers.”

Success Step No. 3:

We are to search for God’s will in all our decisions.

Psalm 118:25 gives us our prayer:

“Save us, we pray, O Lord! O Lord, we pray, give us success!”

Success Step No. 4:

We must uphold our standards and never let others compromise our moral fortitude.

Psalm 119:22 is our cry unto God:

“Take away from me scorn and contempt, for I have kept your testimonies.”

Success Step No. 5:

We are to move forth boldly once we have direction from God.

Psalm 71:21 is our expectation:

“You will increase my greatness and comfort me again.”

Success Step No. 6:

We cannot become disheartened, for God will guide us to continued success.

Psalm 119:105 gives us confidence in our trials:

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

Success Step No. 7:

We must remember that our success comes from the Lord, and our grateful praise is his right by default.

Psalm 84:11 reveals God as the source of all our success:

“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly.”

David was the progenitor of the Christ. Our world thousands of years gone is still affected by his faith and success in God. What will our legacy be when we claim the success the Father has for us? It will be more than we can imagine.

When we model ourselves after the best, we’ll always find God’s success.
