Our Forever Blessing

A man won the Publisher’s Clearing House prize back in 2012.

His payout out? $5,000 per week for the rest of his life or a lump-sum settlement that greatly reduced the total he would receive.

He wisely chose the lifetime payout and began receiving a yearly check of nearly $300,000 each January.

Until recently when Publisher’s Clearing House declared bankruptcy and his checks stopped.

A buyer for Publisher’s has declared they will not honor pre-bankruptcy prize payouts.

The winner thought he had a lifetime gravy train, but it melted away after little more than a decade.

Psalm 65:9 tells us that God’s blessings never melt away. They are ours forever.

“You visit the earth and water it, you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; You provide their grain, for so You have prepared it.” (NKJV)

This verse provides three forever promises to God’s children.

Promise No. 1: He will make our way prosperous.

“You visit the earth and water it, you greatly enrich it.”

Promise No. 2: He will quench our thirst in our dry season.

“The river of God is full of water.”

Promise No. 3: We will never miss out when we depend on him.

“You provide their grain, for so You have prepared it.”

Man tries to promise good things. Publisher’s Clearing House sincerely wanted to continue to pay its prize winners every cent they were owed, but that’s not what happened.

God does promise good things. And his Word is his guarantee that we will prosper in him, our thirst will be satisfied, and our needs will be met.

Amen, and our praise to our Most High God.
