What good is hope?
Isaiah 40:31 gives us the answer to that. Let’s look at this verse in four parts.
Part No. 1:
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.”
Hope is a game changer. We go from depression to anticipation.
Part No. 2:
“They will soar on wings like eagles.”
Even failure cannot crush those with hope. We are enabled to pick up the pieces and start again.
Part No. 3:
“They will run and not grow weary.”
Hope lifts our goals above the storm and keeps it in our eyesight. We can see our glorious destination shining before us.
Part No. 4:
“They will walk and not be faint.”
A lifetime of walking, running, and working will not dissuade those with hope in their hearts. No giving up, no stepping aside, no change in our plans to reach our desired goal.
What good is hope? It’s life to the dying, food to the hungry, comfort to the suffering, salvation to the sinner. Our hope in Christ draws us unto him, and when we are firmly affixed in Jesus, our life changes for the better day by day.
Let’s jump on the Hope Train. Salvation in Christ is our ticket for the journey, and one day we will step off in the Land of Glory to share eternity with him.
