Jesus is now a snuggle blanket?
Are we just going to go there?
Okay, true, not an actual snuggle blanket. Jesus is so much more than a simple piece of cloth. Let’s look, however, at what makes a snuggle blanket so treasured.
Our 1st Reason to Treasure Our Snuggle Blanket:
A snuggle blanket doesn’t care who we are. It warms the old and the young, the healthy and the infirm. It’s there for everyone.
Our 2nd Reason to Treasure Our Snuggle Blanket:
Our snuggle blanket makes us feel better about ourselves. We associate it with hot chocolate, nights in front of the fire, and loved ones who have snuggled with us under its warmth.
Our 3rd Reason to Treasure Our Snuggle Blanket:
We don’t question if our snuggle blanket will be there for us. It will. A bad day at work? A bruised heart? Whatever comes against us, we can face the future once more knowing we can recharge our inner emotional batteries beneath its familiar cloth.
Here’s what Acts 20:32 says that reveals Jesus our snuggle blanket.
“And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.”
1. Jesus offers us grace, no matter who we are, old, young, healthy and infirm. It’s for everyone.
2. Jesus builds us up like hot chocolate before a fire, and we feel better about ourselves.
3. Jesus assures our future in him. He empowers us to face tomorrow whatever comes against us.
So, yes, let’s go there. Jesus, our snuggle blanket. It’s in the Word. Let’s take it and run with it.
