Bank accounts.
They are vital in today’s world. Money moves about electronically, here to there, invisible in the real world.
Even those who barely subsist can hardly get by without a bank account. Benefit checks drop into our bank account, no check needed. Our trickle of dollars simply appears at the same time each month.
In the electronic world, money flows like hot butter, here to there. The more we have, the easier it moves from place to place.
We must be careful to not let our money get away from us in the invisible world of digital money and invisible bank accounts. Banks require passwords, keys, and questions we must answer before we can access our funds.
If our bank account gets hacked, our funds can disappear like stormwater down a curbside drain.
God says he is our protection when we face despair.
Matthew 11:28 says:
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Your despair might be financial . . . but emotional despair can be equally devastating. Relationships can be hacked by circumstances or intent; jobs lost; illness . . . and even death. How do we find our way out the other side?
It’s time to move forward into peace. Find your comfort in Christ. Step back from your problems and let Jesus be your shield.
The world will wear us down, but Jesus will build us up. Let’s take refuge in him.
