Coming Through the Clouds

English Audio Version

How about those tornadoes? Are you ready to move to Kansas?

And hurricanes. Who wants to live on the Gulf Coast in the late summer or fall?

There’s sinkholes in Florida. There’s no safe place to build your house in the Sunshine State.

Let’s all move to California . . . oh, no, earthquakes!

In Colorado you’ll be crushed under an avalanche, and anywhere along the Mississippi River is a flood waiting to happen.

Is there any safe place to make our home?

2 Corinthians 5:1 says we worry about it too much.

“For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”

Bible scholars across the world accept that this verse is talking about our bodies, that if Christians are killed for their faith, there’s a better world on the other side.

Still, this verse applies equally well to the life we live here.

That tornado might carry away your house, and GOD STILL REIGNS SUPREME.

The hurricane might punch a fist right through your living room, and THE LORD IS WITH YOU THROUGH IT.

If your house disappears into a sinkhole (and it does happen!), GOD CAN SET YOU ON FIRMER GROUND.

An avalanche, a flood, it doesn’t matter. When the storm ends, the world will see you hand in hand with God COMING THROUGH THE CLOUDS.

With God as your witness, you are a mighty overcomer through the power of his name.
