Life can take our strength from us.
We become exhausted by the chatter of daily problems, our bills begin to overwhelm us, and the creaking of old age shatters our dreams of an active retirement.
It’s like a day without caffeine, an enforced restriction that plans to stick around for the rest of our life.
God says NO WAY. You don’t have to be that old, worn-out hulk.
God has a gift of better life to offer you.
Psalm 71:9 gives us our Two Energy Shots from God:
“Do not cast me off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength is spent.”
This verse is phrased as a plea, but it’s the answer that should excite us.
Our 1st Energy Shot from God:
Do not cast me off in the time of old age. God is there as we mature into our future. He gifts us with his power. He is our shot in the arm, our energy bump to carry us forward.
Our 2nd Energy Shot from God:
Forsake me not when my strength is spent. Our strength is limited by our youth, our bones, and our muscles. God’s strength is divine, and it has no limit or end.
Our energy shots come from our faith in our Holy God. Turn to him today.
