A Bold Warrior of Christ

What does a warrior look like?

Tall, blond, with thick arms and riding at the prow of a Viking ship?

Encased in 21st century technology, with night goggles and full flak protection?

Can a warrior ever stand proud while kneeling before a mighty enemy?

1 John 5:14 says:

“And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.”

Your child struggling with addiction? You become a warrior on your knees.

The financial struggles that threaten to take your home? You wield the sword of Christ on your knees.

Your struggles with old relationships that threaten to erupt into mayhem? Find your prayer closet, and you will emerge clothed in night vision and flak protection.

Your confidence in God’s answers to your prayers comes in the four words located toward the end of this verse: according to his will.

How can we uncover God’s will for our lives? Through Bible reading and prayer. We will gain insight into his heart, his desires, and his plan for us. We will get to know him and release his will and power in our lives.

Here’s the takeaway. When we are aligned with the will of God, our prayers rise unobstructed before him.

Be confident when you pray, for God answers us when we ask according to his will.
