Take a job in a demanding company, and you don’t have to wait long to find out if you are doing a good job.
As soon as we slack off, we’re likely to hear one of these:
- Shake a leg.
- Get the lead out.
- Light a fire under yourself.
- Put your house in order.
- Get it together or get out.
- Get a move on.
There are a hundred more, but to hear one is to hear them all. They mean the same. We’re not living up to someone’s standards.
God says for the Christian to chill. If we love him and stay focused on his work, we’ve met his requirement. He will guide us through every stage of life, every situation, and to our heavenly home.
Romans 8:28 says:
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
God has our introduction to the company of Christians fully laid out. From the get-go, he sets things in motion to guide us from circumstance to circumstance.
We are not forgotten. God will bring good out of every situation.
Perhaps it’s a lesson we’re expected to learn. Experience we need to earn. The time in the saddle to prove we can manage the difficult task.
Let’s trust in God’s plan for our perfection. As the old children’s song says, God’s still working on us. One day, we will become what he intends us to be.
Give it up to God. He guides us with his master plan.
