3 Worry Busters from Psalms

English Audio Version

Wringing your hands again?

Are your eyes black from lack of sleep?

Do all the bad possibilities keep you preoccupied, preventing you from leading the life you really want to live?

It’s time to break out of your worry zone, to cast off your worry shawl, to crawl out from beneath your cloud of worry to find freedom under the sun.

Or maybe that should say, to find your freedom under the Son.

Here are 3 Worry Busters from Psalms to start you on the way to a brighter tomorrow.

Worry Buster No. 1:

Psalm 9:9-10 says you can trust God when worry overtakes you.

“The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.”

Worry Buster No. 2:

Psalm 32:7 tells you God will deliver you when you become entangled in worry.

“You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance.”

Worry Buster No. 3:

Psalm 91:15 is your assurance God will disperse the storm clouds, and you’ll bask in the warmth of the sun once more.

“When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.”

Worry fixes nothing. No marriage problems have been resolved by worry. Worry hasn’t made a car payment. Worry hasn’t resolved global warming or kept the floodwaters from rising around us.

You must depend on God for your peace. He watches over you. In the Lord, you can get a good night’s rest, confident in his abiding care.

When God is your firm foundation, your worries will vanish like fog in the light of the morning sun.
