3 Means to Overcome the After-Christmas Blahs

English Audio Version

Coming up short after Christmas?

Are you emotionally empty, your tank drained dry?

Have the holiday festivities taken everything from you, and there’s just nothing left?

Your enthusiasm has fallen in the gutter, your smile is barely painted on, and why, oh why did I spend so much money!

Ouch! You’ve got the after-Christmas blahs.

God says to shake it off! He has a better thing for you. You can move forward into the blessings of God if you choose to do what he says.

Joshua 1:8 tells you three things you can do to climb out of your holiday slump.

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

You can start up the ladder to better days. You can put your face into the sunlight. You can begin today.

The First Rung on Our Ladder to Better Things:

Plan a convenient Bible reading time. Be consistent. Earlier in the day is better so you can think about what it says throughout the day.

The Second Rung on Our Ladder to Better Things:

Practice what you read. Be kind to others. Share the message of Christ. Live like Jesus would want you to live.

The Third Rung on Our Ladder to Better Things:

Step into God’s prosperity. You will be showered with success when you read the Bible and do what it says.

Don’t be blue. Refuse to let Christmas bills get you down. Step away from situations that throttle your joy in life.

Your smile can be real. Your time with Jesus will lift your spirit. Your success in God will have you walking in the sunshine every day of the week.

Our triumph over the blahs comes through Jesus when we place our trust in him.
