Stepping Onto Air

English Audio Version

A hot air balloon ride can be invigorating, with the beauty of the earth spread below us … so long as we have a competent pilot onboard.

No one wants to be rudderless. To be cast adrift is frightening.

Yet, what happens when the guywires are severed, and we float free from our mooring, with no one to guide us? How will we find our way home?

Can we escape our desperate situation?

Where’s our rock, our firm foundation, to be found when there’s nothing real around us?

Is our faith in Christ a tangible rescue line? Is God even there?

Here are five verses to support you in your quandary, to lift you closer to the Savior, and to be your firm footing when you step out in faith to follow the Master.

John 3:16 tells of Jesus’ total commitment to us.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

Acts 10:43 says he is true to his word.

“To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

Romans 9:33 is our assurance of Christ’s eternal nature.

“Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”

John 1:12 promises no one is excluded.

“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”

Mark 9:23 tells us how simple our rescue is.

“And Jesus said to him, … All things are possible for one who believes.”

We don’t have to worry about our situation. When we step outside our disaster, Jesus is our steppingstone, our foundation, and our emotional and spiritual support. He’s there for us, and we can place our faith in him.

Jesus will never fail us. We are secure in him.
