3 Actions That Will Bring You Peace

English Audio Version

Peace isn’t the natural state of humanity.

We challenge authority, want what we want, and often don’t care who we hurt to get it.

Getting along with others requires us to make an effort. We decide to ignore the neighbor’s ratty fence. That scratch on our car from our spouse’s outing? Ooh, that can be difficult.

And what about countries that want a peaceful border? It doesn’t happen without work and determination.

If we want spiritual peace, there are three actions we must take.

Action No. 1:

1 John 1:9 says we must admit to the things we’ve done wrong.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

When our hearts are clean, we will rest better at night.

Action No. 2:

Philippians 4:6 requires us to come before God with our needs.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”

God might know every hair on our head, but he still likes to be asked. He will wipe our disruptions away.

Action No. 3:

Proverbs 3:5 tells us to turn the big decisions over to God.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”

We will never figure out life. We will find peace in knowing that God is in control.

Each of these actions requires us to look to God. We must take our eyes off the world and the problems it brings. Our peace comes through a closer relationship with the Father.

Our hand in Jesus’ hand is our safety in every situation.
