Setting Up Our Storehouse

English Audio Version

Try the Christmas season without a tree.

Don’t put one up. Leave that special corner bare and see how many presents make their way underneath.

That’s right, underneath a tree that isn’t there. Your best guess is NOT VERY MANY!

The bigger our tree, the more room there is for gifts, presents, and all other sorts of goodies.

Getting blessings from God is the same. We must set up our storehouse to receive the good gifts of God before he can begin to fill our spaces with his excellent blessings.

We see the proof of this in Psalm 68:29.

“Because of your temple at Jerusalem kings shall bear gifts to you.”

Here’s the vital thing about this, the key we must understand:

David didn’t sit around looking at an empty plot of land waiting for God to fill it with an ongoing influx of wealth and finery. That would have been silly. Instead, David BUILT THE TEMPLE, at a great cost, and the kings brought their gifts because of the magnificence of God’s holy dwelling.

What do we need from God? Let’s build the temple, erect our storehouses, and prepare for an influx of God’s goodness.

Do you need furniture? Build a house and God will fill it. How about retirement savings? Open your investment accounts, and God’s blessings will flow. Want a family? Strike up a conversation and see if you’re compatible.

God desires to bless his children. It’s time we got out of the field and started preparing a place to accumulate all that God wants to do for us.

Our outstretched arms reveal our hearts prepared for Jesus.
