Success for Christ is all in our head.
That sounds anti-religious, but wait! Don’t count out this post yet!
It’s proven in the natural world that what we put our minds to, we can pretty much do. Many people call it positive thinking. Others say to be upbeat, to look for the silver lining, or even call it mind over matter.
Whatever we name it, it works. It really does.
Why shouldn’t it work in the spiritual world? Romans 8:6 says it does.
“For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”
If we spend our time thinking about what’s going on around us here on earth, we’ll be pulled that direction. From racy advertisements to a preoccupation with purchasing more and more, we’ll chase after the world’s empty dreams and never find happiness.
If we spend our time thinking about our spiritual development, we’ll grow closer to God and want to focus on him. From discovering an interest in the welfare of our fellow humans to a driving desire to become like Christ, we’ll soon find life and peace filling every day.
We mustn’t try to live for Christ. We simply do it. When we keep our thoughts on Jesus, we’ll become head strong for him.
