Double Guarantee

English Audio Version

A new product is worthless without a guarantee.

Often manufacturers try to limit their accountability by listing circumstances that invalidate their warranty.

In 2016, a business owner had an insulated, stainless drinking tumbler with his business logo laser-etched onto the outside. The manufacturer had an outstanding reputation for quality and a price to match. Their multi-year warranty was the best in its class.

The tumbler developed a rust spot on the interior within weeks. The warranty claim was rejected because the outside surface was laser-etched, or “modified.”

Sometimes we need a double guarantee. For example, California doesn’t allow exclusions to implied warranties. That means even if the warranty isn’t written down, manufacturers can’t cut us out of our guarantee of good service from a product.

We get a double guarantee from Christ. There is nothing we can do that will separate us from his love. It’s guaranteed.

1 John 5:15 says asking of him is as good as receiving.

“And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.”

Psalm 37:5-6 gives us our only condition: We must determine to live for him in every way possible.

“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.”

Isaiah 26:3 tells us our trust isn’t misplaced when our hope is founded in the peace that comes from the Father above.

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”

Our car warranty might run out after a certain number of miles. Our fridge might go on the blink the day after the warranty expires. Our roof’s prorated guarantee might well be worth less than the replacement cost. Yet, we have one thing in which we can place our trust. Our salvation is forever and amen, and when we commit to Christ, he will be our helper and companion throughout all our days.

There is no guarantee like the one written on the cross by the blood of Jesus.
