Fear is a warmonger. Its rotten tendrils of indecision and immobilization frighten us into inaction.
We cannot let fear rule our daily lives.
Hebrews 13:6 lets us know that with God as our guide, fear is kicked out the door. Man can do nothing against the might of the Lord, for God is our champion.
“So we can confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?’ ”
Proverbs 16:20 gives us our fear shield. When we keep the Word of God in our thoughts and continually let God have the reins of our life, the Father will be our protection.
“Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.”
Psalm 56:4 assures us that in the flesh there is no hope. Only through God can we achieve our salvation in Christ.
“In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?”
1 John 4:16 is our promise that once we begin to trust in God, his love will flow freely, and we will be its recipient. Along with the love of the Father, our mighty King will come to reside in our life.
“So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”
Fear has no place in the Christian’s heart. Not fear of public failure, nor fear of private humiliation. We can’t fear financial disaster or bad weather or unexpected illness. When we have Christ in our heart, there’s no room for those other things.
Christ will fill us up until every bad thing is cast out of our lives.
