Our Hope in Christ

―  Also find us at www.MyChurchNotes.com  ―

Some things can’t be fixed.

A broken home, financial ruin, even death. Once we pass that threshold, there’s no going back.

Or is there?

In Acts 9:38, we read of a disciple named Tabitha, whom we know as Dorcas. She’d become sick, had died, been washed, and lay in an upper room in preparation for burial. When Tabitha’s fellow disciples heard that Peter was in the next town, “they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.”

Why send for Peter? The Word doesn’t tell, but if they were expecting a miracle, that’s exactly what they got. Acts 9:40 tells us:

“Peter… kneeled down, and prayed; …and she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.”

That’s something to get excited about. Even death’s not an impossible thing for God to fix. Let’s quit worrying about our broken homes and financial disasters. Turn them over to God. He’s our hope, and he’s our salvation in every bad thing that comes our way.

When we come to the end of the sidewalk, let’s lift our hands to Jesus. He’ll lift us up and carry us the rest of the way.

Excerpt of the Day

Disbelief is fine. Refusing to move past it when confronted with the truth cuts God to the quick.
