10 God Truths We Cannot Ignore

Words carry power. They can build someone up, and convince them that anything is possible. They can also destroy lives, leaving our victims wallowing in despair.

The pen is mightier than the sword. That phrase was coined in 1839 by English author Edward Bulwer-Lytton. It’s still with us today, because there’s truth in those words. When we convince someone of an idea, we can raise nations and topple kingdoms.

The Word of God has been with us for thousands of years. Why has it withstood the test of time? It was written by a master author and is filled with words of truth and power. When we speak the truth in the Bible’s pages, we can build up people’s faith and topple the walls of sin in their lives.

Genesis 1:1 states that in the beginning, it was God who created the heavens and the earth.

Titus 1:2 assures us our hope of eternal life was given before the ages began.

Ephesians 4:22-24 states we are to put off our former life, which is corruption, and to put on the new self, which is righteousness and holiness.

Galatians 5:19-21 lists the warning signs of our former life, including anger, dissention, and envy.

1 Corinthians 6:18 tells us that sexual sins damage our bodies.

Matthew 5:28 says that to even look at someone with lust is to already be on the road to sin.

Romans 1:24 warns us that God will give us over to our evil desires if we refuse to accept his truth.

Isaiah 44:6 proclaims there is no god besides Jehovah God.

Luke 21:1-4 shows us that it’s not how much we give God, it’s how much it costs us that matters.

Words carry power. God’s words carry great power. They can build the Christian up, and convince him to do God’s work. They can show him how to remain in the will of God. They can be a guidebook through the twists and turns of this life.

John 3:16 announces to the world that God loved us enough to give his Son so that we should not perish but have eternal life. His expression of love starts with the first book of the Bible. It’s still with us today, because the truth of the Word is eternal.

When we lift up the Word of God, we wield a great sword of truth and power in his name.

Disbelief is fine. Refusing to move past it when confronted with the truth cuts God to the quick.
