Our Fellowship with Christ

English Audio Version

Mary Magdalene is listed in all four gospels as being at the tomb of Jesus.

She is sometimes described as a follower of Jesus who was present at his crucifixion and burial.

Mary, the mother of James, is also listed in all four gospels. She is sometimes referred to as the mother of James the Less or the mother of Joses.

Salome is mentioned by name in the book of Mark and in other places as the mother of James and John, who are two of Jesus’ disciples.

Johanna, described as a follower of Jesus who was present at his crucifixion and burial, is mentioned by name in the book of Luke.

Other women are also mentioned, including Mary, the mother of Jesus. These women, all of them, play an important role in the events of the resurrection, for it is by their witness that the stone is rolled away and the tomb is empty!

Jesus not only appears to these women as a testimony of his resurrection but also to two of his disciples in Luke 24:13-16.

“Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. 14 They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. 15 As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; 16 but they were kept from recognizing him.”

Jesus, during his life and his death, was filled with the unbreakable love of his Father toward humanity. His strength flowed from his bond with his Father and his divine nature as the eternal Son of the almighty God and the Risen Savior of all mankind.

His was a love stronger than death and would jumpstart the Great Commission to spread the good news of the gospel throughout the world (Matt. 28:18-20).

When we find our fellowship in Christ, we will be compelled to share him with everyone we meet. It is the Great Commission. Let’s get to it today!
